Hail & Sons Horizontal Drilling specializes in horizontal directional drilling, also known as directional boring. It is a trench-less method for installing underground pipes, conduits, and cables along a planned route with minimal surface disruption. It is ideal for areas where access is limited or where traditional trenching could disturb busy streets, existing structures, or sensitive surroundings.
Hail & Sons Horizontal Drilling has extensive experience completing bores of various sizes for residential and commercial projects throughout Oklahoma, including Tulsa, Wagoner, Wynnewood, Sapulpa, Enid, and Stillwater.
History
Founded in 1973 by Gerald J. Hail as H&H Road Boring Company, LLC, our company began as a family business built on hard work, quality workmanship, and a commitment to doing the job right. What started more than 50 years ago has grown into a multi-generational company that continues to serve the underground utility construction industry today.
Gerald’s eldest son, James, began working alongside his father in 1983. Together, they took on numerous high-profile projects and continued to grow the company’s capabilities. In 2000, H&H expanded into directional drilling, adding Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) to the trench-less construction services we could provide.
In 2015, James lost his father, mentor, and business partner. James continued carrying the business forward, building on the foundation and values his father had established. Over the years, James brought his sons, Rowdy and J.R., into the field, where they have taken on increasing responsibilities and continue to learn the trade that has been passed down through the family. His daughter, Alyssa, runs the office and manages the administrative side of the business.
In 2023, the company entered a new chapter and changed its name from H&H Road Boring Company, LLC to Hail & Sons Horizontal Drilling, LLC. The new name represents the next generation of the Hail family stepping into greater roles while James remains the owner and manager of the business.
Our family has grown significantly over the years. What was once a family of five has now grown into a family of fifteen, and our company has grown right alongside it. Although our name has changed and the next generation has taken on more responsibility, the foundation of our business remains the same.
At Hail & Sons Horizontal Drilling, we believe our business should be built on integrity, dependability, hard work, and faith. Most importantly, we strive to put the Lord first in all that we do. We believe that everything we have is ultimately His, and that we have been entrusted with the responsibility to be good stewards of what He has placed in our hands.
Today, Hail & Sons Horizontal Drilling specializes in trench less underground construction and road bores ranging from 2″ to 72″, utilizing methods including Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), Bore & Jack, Slick Bore, and Dry Bore. From our office in Inola, Oklahoma, we are proud to continue the legacy Gerald J. Hail started in 1973 while building a future for the generations to come.
